# Connect Microsoft Teams

## Prerequisites

Use a Teams account in the intended organization and permission to install the Teammately app. Your organization's app policies may require administrator approval.

## Install and test

1. Open **Admin → Integrations → Microsoft Teams**.
2. Select **Connect Microsoft Teams** to open the configured installation flow.
3. In Teams, confirm the signed-in organization, review the app and add it.
4. Return to Teammately and use **Send Test DM**.
5. Inspect the result and check Teams for the personal message.

Returning from installation does not verify that the app is installed. A successful test reports provider acceptance; checking Teams establishes receipt.

## Notification boundary

This flow manages app installation and personal-message testing. Automatic product milestone notifications use email and Slack; installing the Teams app does not enable those milestones in Teams.

## Recover setup

If Teams blocks installation, ask its administrator to review app policy. An unavailable installation link requires the Teammately service operator to correct its configuration. For test failures, use the reported messaging result to inspect the intended organization, installation and recipient access. Manage the installed app from Teams.
